Oregon High School is a midsized suburban school located south of Madison, WI. In the spring of 2018, a group of OHS teachers and coaches participated in a 6-session Intro to AIW workshop. During the 2018-2019 school year, 3 interdisciplinary AIW teams were formed. These teams meet weekly to share and score instructional artifacts and to discuss how to support the learning of all students. Additional AIW teams were added during the 2019-2020 school year, and team facilitators participated in additional training through the AIW Institute's Leading & Learning Cohort. 

Horace Mann Middle School serves over 500 Students in Grade 6 (and a Grades 4-5 Magnet Program) in the Neenah Joint School District. An interdisciplinary team of 13 teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators began AIW professional learning in 2019-20, with plans to involve all staff in 2020-21. Consistent with AIW, Horace Mann is dedicated to helping their students become independent problem solvers using a real world, relevant curriculum.

Belpre City Schools, situated along the Ohio River, introduced AIW to one-third of its K-12 staff members in the fall of 2020.  Additional staff members will be introduced to AIW next year, with plans to bring all staff on in the next few years. The district recently developed its Portrait of a Graduate, with the goal of increasing students' engagement with and construction of their learning.  AIW will help the district promote and enact their vision for Belpre graduates. 

The AIW Institute partners with the Mofet Institute, with support from the Yad Hanadiv Foundation, to train regional facilitators and building-based teacher leaders to implement the AIW framework. Based in Tel Aviv, the Mofet Institute’s Hashkafah project supports teacher leadership development across the country. Leaders from Mofet, Yad Hanadiv, the Ministry of Education and other supporting organizations have also participated in in-person AIW training and collaborate with AIW coaches regularly via video conferencing.

Concordia University Chicago (CUC) is a private, Lutheran university located near Chicago, IL that offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. In January of 2020, CUC began a partnership with the AIW Institute to facilitate and support 2 AIW pilot teams, with the goal of bringing undergraduate and graduate instructors together to improve their disciplinary literacy practices and vocational instruction. 

30 teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators participated in professional learning to serve as anchors to their interdisciplinary AIW teams that include all secondary teachers. In Central District 301's two middle schools and high schools, AIW work is also integrated into department-based teams to support unit planning and common assessments.

Verona Area High School is a comprehensive high school located near Madison, WI.  During the fall of 2019, 2 interdisciplinary AIW pilot teams were developed. These teams are currently meeting regularly to share and score instructional artifacts, both on their own and with an AIW Institute coach. 

Mansfield is a K-8 district. In 2018-19, the district leadership team worked with the AIW Institute to develop an understanding of the framework and to plan for its use in teacher teams in the 4 schools. AIW will support the district’s initiatives with 21st Century Learning, project-based learning, and performance-based assessments.

A long-time AIW Institute partner, Pike County School District supports AIW teams at the primary, elementary, middle and high school levels.  All teachers participate in AIW professional development, and administrators and teachers share leadership for ongoing instructional improvement. Within the district, grade-level and course "cornerstone tasks" are designed to meet AIW standards for construction of knowledge, elaborated communication and value beyond school. 

Green Lake School District is a rural district in Wisconsin that offers a PreK-12 IB program. Teacher teams use the AIW framework and scoring process to improve their IB units and lesson plans. In the summer of 2016, Bruce, Laura, GLSD’s superintendent and a HS English teacher presented about this collaboration at IB’s Conference of the Americas in Toronto, Canada.

Wadleigh Secondary School is a small, urban school in New York City, with a focus on performing and visual arts. Housed in the first public high schools for girls in NYC, it serves approximately 300 students in grades 6-12. Interdisciplinary AIW teams scored and revised artifacts, with the goal of enhancing the school's focus on Habits of Mind, Work and Heart for their diverse learners.

Kelliher is a small, rural district in north central Minnesota that has developed a strong understanding of the AIW framework and scoring process, collaboratively working to build authentic units of study. A number of Kelliher educators are AIW trained coaches who also participate with other AIW schools in the area.
